Weatherford Christian School Board of Directors unanimously voted at last monthâs meeting to induct two new members: Kali Jones and Alan Crawford. The board now consists of nine members and is led by board President Dr. Jeff Foland.
âWe are excited to expand our school board with two new members who will bring diverse expertise and insight to our work,â said Dr. Beth Riley, WCS head of school. âWe have worked diligently to ensure that our board and leadership represents a variety of experts from the community, and the newest board members are no exception. WCS is blessed to have a group of Christian men and women who are dedicated to lead and serve the Weatherford Christian community.â
McKinney officials urge patience and to not go to a vaccine hub without an appointment

As the Collin County Health Care Services COVID-19 vaccination mega-hub relocates to Plano ISD’s John Clark Stadium Wednesday, McKinney officials are urging the public not to show up without an appointment.
“We know the community is eager to get this vaccine, and we are doing everything we can to get this out as expeditiously as possible,” said McKinney Fire Chief Danny Kistner in a news release. “We kindly ask the community to be patient as we ramp up this operation and vaccines become more widely available.”
Scott Smith arrived on the Lander campus to lead the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) on June 1, 1985. The ministry operated out of a house on Stanley Avenue until the work was so great that a new location was found in 1987 on West Cambridge Avenue.
In those 35-plus years, the soft-spoken collegiate minister said heâs walked nearly every inch of campus, talked to thousands of college students, and watched Lander grow from a college to a university.
But never, Smith said, has he âexperienced anything like the happenings of this campus since March (2020) when COVID-19 changed our campus and our world.â
