Late pilot leaves $1M gift to Lehigh Carbon Community College

Nevin Earl Remaley, 94, of Florida served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later worked for U.S. Airlines as a pilot, retiring after 25 years in the position of captain. He left behind a $1 million gift for Lehigh Carbon Community College students studying aviation.

A late pilot formerly of Carbon County has left a $1 million gift behind to provide scholarships for students studying aviation at Lehigh Carbon Community College.
Nevin Earl Remaley, 94, of Florida served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later worked for U.S. Airlines as a pilot, retiring after 25 years in his final position as captain. Prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy, he attended Lehighton Area High School and later, the Naval School of Electronics and was an electrician on a landing craft tanker. He fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and received an honorary disch
