Lismore s sporting hub Lismore has set it s sights on becoming the premier sporting hub in the Northern Rivers and this $6 million dollar project is the centrepiece. The DA was lodged earlier this year and the Council has begun calling for tenders on the project. The project will ensure Lismore s sporting precinct can host top class AFL and NRL matches for years to come.

Last week’s flood was a strange one. This time the river could not be blamed, as the most damaging part of the flood was caused by an intense shower (more like a waterfall according to witnesses), on the town side of the levee.
For locals still recovering from the emotional scars of the last flood, it was a challenging experience to say the least.
Like many other people, Maddy Braddon’s mum lost her parked car in the latest deluge. Young North Lismore resident Maddy took to social media to talk to others who were affected by the intense rain, and what followed.

FLASH flooding, extremely heavy rainfall and storms have caused plenty of damage across the Northern Rivers.
Council crews are out and about assessing damage, but the full extent of the clean-up and the costs wonât be known for days.
