Grim December: Newly released data from Ohio’s fumbled reporting of coronavirus deaths shows just how grim the toll from COVID-19 actually had become in December, with nearly double the deaths in the month than previously reported. Ohio Department of Health data now shows at least 5,597 Ohioans died because of the coronavirus in December, up from the 2,859 reported last Wednesday, Rich Exner reports. December accounts for more than a third of all deaths reported to date.

Father Demetrios was raised in Hamilton, Ontario, where he felt his calling to the priesthood at an early age and left his home in 1957 to attend Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Brookline, Massachusetts. After graduating in 1964, he headed west to serve at the Assumption Cathedral as Youth Director and Greek School teacher in Denver, Colorado. CLEVELAND, Ohio A winter storm that has a potential to dump 8 to 12 inches on the Cleveland and Akron areas has resulted in dozens of Northeast Ohio school districts canceling or delaying classes for Tuesday.
Several major school districts made the decision to cancel Tuesday’s classes by Monday evening, including Akron City Schools, Avon and Avon Lake schools, Canton City Schools, East Cleveland City Schools, Elyria City Schools, Eulclid City Schools, Mentor Exempted Village School District, and Shaker Heights Schools, to name just a few. Some districts in the area are closing buildings but will have remote classes on Tuesday, including Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools.
