The North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. announced Tuesday it has approved two loans amounting in $30,000 to go towards 290 Auto Body Inc. and American Transport, both in Worcester.
The auto body collision repair shop specializing in vehicle and insurance claim services has put its $20,000 loan as working capital towards continuing operations during this coronavirus pandemic.
American Transport, a full-service auto transport now delivering nationwide, acquired $10,000 as working capital loan, also due to the disruptions of Covid-19.
As a microloan lender, NCMDC is able to provide small businesses with loans for working capital, equipment, inventory, and expansion. NCMDC is the financing arm of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, and these two loans were made in partnership with the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. has awarded Kimatra Maxwell, owner of Leominster mental health counseling provider Connecting to Greatness, a $20,000 loan, the Fitchburg organization announced on Wednesday.
Dr. ANNE C. LARKIN has been promoted to vice provost for educational affairs at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, a newly created position including responsibility for creating an inclusive process to implement the educational goals of the school’s IMPACT 2025 Strategic Plan as well as oversight of crucial educational resources that support the school’s educational mission. Larkin was previously senior associate dean for educational affairs at UMass Medical School, and is vice chair and associate professor of surgery, specializing in breast and endocrine surgery.

Results from a business impact survey issued to businesses located in North Central Massachusetts highlight the continued impacts to the local business community because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This new survey was conducted by the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the MassHire North Central Workforce Board, the Montachusett Regional Planning Commission, NewVue Communities and many of the cities and towns in North Central Massachusetts.
Nearly 250 responses were received, representing businesses from all 27 cities and towns in North Central Massachusetts, including Leominster. Respondents reflected the top industries in the region, including health care, manufacturing, retail, food and beverages, financial services, education and agriculture among others.
