North West police commissioner Lt-Gen Sello Kwena has condemned the storming of the Jouberton police station in Klerksdorp on Monday morning, allegedly by gang members.
It is alleged that the group, which accused the police of conniving with another one of the gangs, entered the community service centre at 10am and demanded to see the station commander.
An attempt was made to disarm a police officer of an R5 rifle which was in the community service centre, but members of the tactical response team intervened and successfully pushed the group out of the station.

Johannesburg â The DA in North West has labelled the provincial ANCâs decision to monitor and regulate the activities of Premier Job Mokgoro following the suspension of his ANCâs membership as âunconstitutionalâ.
On Sunday, the ANC suspended Premier Mokgoroâs party membership, claiming that he and four other ANC members colluded with the ANC to elect fellow ANC member Priscilla Williams as chair of chairs in the North West Provincial Legislature.
The ANC wanted Lenah Miga for the position. According to the ANC interim provincial coordinator, Hlomani Chauke, Mokgoro, Aaron Motswana, Williams, Job Dliso and Bitsa Lenkopane had denied the party mandate and had brought the organisation into disrepute.
