Sunderland AFC Ladies will match up with fellow FAWNL Northern Premier League side Sheffield Women in the Vitality Womenâs FA Cup in January, after the two names were drawn simultaneously today.
Round Two of the Cup will be played on the turn of the year, with matches scheduled for Sunday 3
January, and the Lasses will play host to a Sheffield side who currently sit at 11
th place in the same league.
A total of 32 teams will compete on the day across the country, with local rivals Newcastle United travelling to Brighouse Town and Middlesbrough Women hosting Hull City. Sunderland enter the cup in Round Two, as the first round is left to lower league teams to compete before introducing higher competition.
