Police were investigating three different scenes, but said the three were shot just after 4 p.m. at Eighth and Pine streets. Nearly two dozen evidence markers could be seen at the intersection. Long Beach to allow outdoor dining parklets to operate longer • Long Beach Post News

- ADVERTISEMENT - The city’s Open Streets program, which has resulted in restaurant parklets being built out into existing lanes of traffic and other street closures to promote safe outdoor activities was set to expire next month. However a unanimous vote by the council Tuesday will extend the program starting in January, with quarterly reviews of the street closures. It will also include the continuance of the closure of Pine Avenue in Downtown from First to Fifth streets. The vote also authorized the city’s traffic engineer to possibly review and adjust streets identified for the program going forward.

Reply Elmhurst police arrested Kristie Johnson, 66, of Elmhurst, and Ryan Z. Andrews, 24, of Westmont, on domestic violence charges in recent days, according to reports. (Shutterstock) ELMHURST, IL Elmhurst police made two domestic violence arrests this week. Both suspects were taken to the DuPage County Jail. Here is information from the reports: Kristie Johnson, 66, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of North Pine on a charge of domestic battery. The victim told an officer that she and Johnson were in an argument when Johnson threw a candy dish at her, striking her. Ryan Z. Andrews, 24, of Westmont, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of domestic battery. The incident was 10:30 a.m. Nov. 25 in the 100 block of Fellows Court. The victim told officers that Andrews struck her on the forearm and kicked her right knee. An officer spoke with Andrews, who admitted to striking the woman, according to a report.
