Police investigating after 1 person shot near shopping center in Henrico Police are investigating. (WWBT) - Henrico police said one person has been shot in the county’s west end in the Ridge Shopping Center area. Officers responded to the 1500 block of North Parham Road for the report of a shooting around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. A police spokesperson said a man was shot and taken to the hospital. There is no word on the victim’s condition. NBC12 has a crew headed to the scene, working to learn more.

The story has been updated.  One of the owners of Short Pump Town Center has taken another bite out of Henrico County, except this time it’s not in the retail sector. Last month an entity tied to Brookfield Properties purchased the Sunrise Villa Tuckahoe assisted living facility at 12401 Gayton Road for $20 million. Sunrise Villa spans 234,000 square feet and offers assisted living along with Alzheimer’s and hospice care. The facility is run by McLean-based Sunrise Senior Living, which also operates similar homes in Bon Air and on North Parham Road in the city.
