Flames Char Part Of Popular Restaurant In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) – Colorado Springs firefighters rushed to a popular restaurant on North Nevada Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. Flames were seen spilling out of the Navajo Hogan.
The fire department says the fire erupted at a building behind the main restaurant. Police officials say there was some kind of explosion.

A Colorado Springs man who was seriously injured in a two-car collision in late March died 10 days later, according to a Friday news release.
James Barcus, 89, succumbed to his injuries at a Colorado Springs hospital on April 8, police officials said. Barcus was hospitalized on March 29 after his vehicle was involved in a crash with a van at the intersection of North Nevada Avenue and East Monroe Street.
Investigators determined that at about 1:30 p.m. on March 29, Barcus was attempting to turn onto northbound North Nevada Avenue from eastbound Monroe Street when his car was hit by a southbound Honda van.
A man shot himself after barricading himself in a motel room when deputies tried to evict him Monday morning, police said.
El Paso County Sheriff s civil deputies tried to evict a guest at a motel in the 3800 block of North Nevada Avenue, around 8:20 a.m. when the man started pointing a gun at deputies and barricaded himself inside a room, police tweeted.
Colorado Springs police reported officers tried to assist deputies and that residents nearby were ordered to shelter in place. Officers asked the man to exit the building. When police managed to enter the building they found the man dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
