Eagles To Compete For 4A Bi-District Championship The Hillsboro High School varsity baseball team will play in the University Interscholastic League Class 4A Region II bi-district championship series against North Dallas High School. Game one of the best-of-three game series is set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Eagle Park in Hillsboro. Game two will be held at noon Saturday, May 8, at North Dallas. If necessary, game three will follow 30 minutes after game two in North Dallas. Coached by Ryan Cook, the Eagles earned the postseason appearance by claiming the fourth seed out of District 11-4A behind Waxahachie Life, Godley and Alvarado. Cook said that his team has seen some tough pitchers in district play and he feels the experience will benefit the Eagles in the post-season.
Rangers legend Michael Young donates $50k to Reverchon Park ballfield restoration

DALLAS - Texas Rangers legend Michael Young is doing his part to bring life back to a baseball field near downtown Dallas.
Young donated $50,000 to the Dallas Education Foundation, which is raising funds for the Reverchon Park restoration project. The young people in our community, and their families, deserve to have a place they can be proud of and call their own. Dallas has always embraced me and my family, and we are thrilled to be able to support this inclusive project, Young said in a statement.

Quinn Mason spent much of his childhood tinkering with a keyboard, learning the cello, playing percussion and dreaming up sonatas, concertos and symphonies. In middle school, he sketched out an opera while he should have been taking notes during social studies. He was a sophomore at North Dallas High School when the concert band played one of his pieces, the first public performance of his work.
