ND Mill profits continue to climb in Grand Forks

By Doug Barrett The North Dakota Mill and Elevator reports its second quarter profits at $4,517,000. Mill manager Vance Taylor says that’s up 37 percent from the previous fiscal year’s second quarter, where profits were $3,303,000. Taylor says year to date profits are $7.8 million, compared to the $6.4 million in the previous year. He adds flour shipments have set records in the first two quarters. “The continued demand from home bakers drove family flour and we are up 64% to date.” Taylor told the North Dakota Industrial Commission the third quarter is also looking very good. “We continue to see strong demand from customers and shipment volumes.”
