Friday, 11:45 a.m. update: The suspect in Thursday s standoff with North Liberty police and Johnson County sheriff s deputies had charges filed against him Friday, according to court records.
The Johnson County Sheriff s Office filed a complaint of eluding deputies and booked him into the Johnson County Jail at 6:55 p.m. Thursday, according to the online jail roster.
Deputies allege he was driving a van suspected of being associated with a crime, according to the complaint. When they located the vehicle in Coralville, they tried to stop him but he failed to yield, the complaint reads.

She was witty. She was caring. She was selfless, according to her obituary. But above all, she was strong.
Her family saw her at her weakest point, afflicted by the novel coronavirus and forced to be on a ventilator in a hospital intensive care unit.
She was on the ventilator 41 days, off the vent for 10 days, but then back on the breathing machine before she died, her daughter, Lori Anthony, said.
She just missed – by less than two weeks – celebrating her 72nd birthday.
