The Northern Cape Education Department confirms its provincial offices, including seven schools, have been closed due to Covid-19.
Spokesperson, Geoffrey van der Merwe, confirms their offices have been closed following ten positive cases and will be re-opened next week Monday following decontamination. He says employees within the department will meanwhile work remotely from home whilst those in quarantine and self-isolation recovers. Van der Merwe further confirms they are keeping a close eye on schools in the Namakwa and John Taolo Gaetsewe districts following several positive cases. He says their district office developed a recovery plan to ensure that the last school days are recovered for the affected schools.
