RPM Automotive Group Ltd (ASX:RPM) has acquired two businesses and announced it will open a new distribution centre to grow its operations in Far North Queensland. Carline Automotive - Cairns and Carline Automotive and Revolution Racegear - Townsville will join the RPM group as part of ASX-lister’s growth strategy in a $500,000 deal. The businesses will be integrated into RPM’s performance and accessories division, effective August 1, 2021, while the Townsville distribution centre expands RPM’s distribution footprint.

20:55 EDT, 2 August 2021 A Who s Who of Australian media was dragged into a defamation court case about a sacked rugby league reporter who threatened to rip off a junior staffer s head and defecate down his neck.  NSW District Court Judge Judith Gibson last week threw out a lawsuit by ex-Seven News journalist Josh Massoud after hearing evidence from former TV anchor Jim Wilson, Seven News boss Jason Morrison and former presenter Ryan Phelan. Massoud had taken News Corp, Nine, KIIS FM, Radio 2GB and Fox Sports to court, variously claiming the news outlets had defamed him as a bully and someone who threatens and intimidates colleagues, in 16 articles published in 2018 and 2019. 

Young man arrested after taking a police car on an early morning joyride in Queensland

Share Officers then received reports that a man had driven off in the car at about 2.30am. The car was driven at least 50km southeast of Townsville with police deploying road spikes to try to stop it at Alligator Creek. Two left hand tyres were blown but the car travelled back to the city where it drove into the army s Lavarack Barracks and crashed into another police car. A 24-year-old Mount Low man has been arrested and is being questioned by police. Police had to deploy road spikes to try stop the car that was driven at least 50km southeast of Townsville
