A CUMBRIAN health boss has spoken of the challenges that the county still faces wit coronavirus despite the restrictions easing today. Colin Cox, director of public health for Cumbria, has urged those who have not yet been vaccinated to make sure they do so as soon as possible to ensure more people are protected. Speaking before the lockdown easing, Mr Cox said: I know many people are anxious about this. Particularly as we currently have rapidly rising case rates. It is true that cases are currently still rising, we have around more than 300 new cases a day in Cumbria at the moment which is around the same rate as we had at New Year. That was 10 to 12 days before the peak of cases in January.
