The district will be closing all their mass vaccine sites, including those in Boundary, Benewah and Shoshone counties. The mass vaccine site at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds will be moved to North Idaho College (NIC) Coeur d’Alene and Rathdrum campuses next week.

According to a press release from the PHD, Health Services Administrator Don Duffy said they have also offered mobile teams to distribute flu vaccinations in the past. “If there is a way that we can remove any barriers for those who want the vaccine, we want to do that for our community,” Duffy said.

Meanwhile, institutions across the Eastern Washington area are either undecided on a requirement or forgoing a mandatory vaccine policy. Even though coronavirus vaccines only have emergency approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, there is no legal reason colleges could not require COVID-19 vaccinations, said Harvard Law professor Glenn Cohen, though there are also no federal guidelines explicitly permitting such mandates.
