Hospital trust gets £10million cash injection to help recover from pandemic MILLIONS of pounds is being injected into the trust which runs Colchester Hospital to try and speed up the recovery of NHS services. The East Suffolk and North Essex Trust (ESNEFT) has been awarded £10million in a bid to tackle lengthy waiting lists caused by the pandemic. The money is part of £160million funding from the Government to implement innovative ways to increase the number of elective operations hospitals deliver. The funding comes after the latest figures showed a record number of patients had been waiting a year or longer for routine treatment at ESNEFT.

More than 100 new clinical workers join East Suffolk and North Essex Trust More than 100 new clinical workers joined East Suffolk and North Essex Trust this year, figures reveal. NHS Digital figures show that 4,865 professionally qualified clinical staff were working at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust in January – 133 more than in January 2020. There are now a total of 2,423 nurses and health visitors working for the trust – 36 more than last year. There are also 1,054 doctors – 43 more. The total number of clinical workers increased from 4,732 in January 2020, to 4,865 at the start of this year. Other clinical workers include midwives, ambulance and technical staff.
