Fighter jets over Montreal

This Wednesday, Royal Canadian and United States fighter jets will come together in training exercises over Montreal.  It is part of the North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD) that enforces airspace restrictions, breaches and the responses to them, hijackings, and even unknown aircrafts in high pressure airspace.  According to NORAD, people may hear and/or see NORAD-tasked fighter jets in close proximity to a civilian ones.

Fighter jet intercepts small aircraft that violated Presidential Airspace over Delaware NORAD A North American Aerospace Defense Command fighter jet intercepted a small aircraft that had violated Presidential airspace over Wilmington, Delaware, on Sunday, according to a statement from NORAD, which is responsible for protecting the skies over the US and Canada. The fighter jet dispensed signal flares to alert the pilot and direct the aircraft, which was not in communication with air traffic controllers, out of the restricted zone, the statement said. The aircraft, identified on the ground as a single-engine, four-seat Grumman American based in New York, landed at New Garden Airport just north of the Delaware state line shortly after 1 p.m. ET.
