CHENNAI
The Jammu and Kashmir department of Tourism in collaboration with the Travel Agents Society of Kashmir (TASK) organised a roadshow in the city recently in which more than 160 travel agents participated.
Additional Secretary of J&K Tourism Waseem Raja highlighted the known and lesser-known tourist destinations, art and craft, pilgrim and adventure tourism besides the upcoming festivals.
The Additional Secretary tourism assured the travel trade of all necessary support from J&K tourism in making the travellers stay in Union Territory memorable and comfortable.
Besides Mr. Raja, the team of J&K tourism was represented by DGM Jammu and Kashmir Tourist Development Corporation Ashwani Gupta, Tourist officer Chennai T.P. Singh, president of TASK, Mir Anwar, vice president of TASK, Athar Yamin and members of TASK.

The highlight of the event was a detailed presentation of J&K tourism by Addl. Secretary Tourism JK, Waseem Raja about the known and lesser-known tourist destinations, art and craft, pilgrim and adventure tourism besides the upcoming festivals.

Director Tourism Kashmir Dr GN Itoo led the delegation of the representatives of the local travel and hospitality sector for the promotion of the J&K’s vast tourism potential and invited travellers to the union territory.
Leading tourism operators, travel agents, destination management companies besides regional and national media were invited at the promotional evening on Thursday who networked with the J&K’s travel agents for business opportunities and promotion of the varied tourism products.
While appreciating the travel fraternity from Western coast of India for their continued promotion of Kashmir in travel packages, Director Tourism Kashmir said Gujarat has remained one of the major markets where a large number of travellers visit J&K.

KARACHI: An antiterrorism court has indicted five suspects in cases pertaining to kidnapping of two young women for ransom in the Defence Housing Authority.
The accused Muzaffar, alias Moozi; Zohaib Qureshi; Tariq alias Shakeel; Waseem Raja, alias Kamran and Fayyaz Solangi along with an absconding former policeman Agha Mansoor have been charged with kidnapping for ransom Dua Mangi and Bisma in DHA in 2019.
On Saturday, the matter came up before the antiterrorism court concerned, when the judge read out the charges to the accused persons.
