Today is St Patrick’s Day! Erin Go Braugh! Which means Ireland forever! St. Patrick’s Day is in honor of the patron Saint of Ireland, who brought Christianity about 400 AD to the Emerald Isles, as Ireland is known. It is truly a day of celebrating Irish history ancestry, traditions and customs. St. Patrick’s Day has many symbols and traditions, from shamrocks and leprechauns to green beer, corned beef and cabbage. St. Patrick’s Day parades are popular in many cities around the United States. Interestingly, the first St. Patrick’s Day parade did not take place in Ireland. It took place in New York City in 1792.
