Lavender Shortbread 2/3 cup sugar 1 Tbsp chopped fresh mint 2 1/3 cups flour 1/2 cup corn starch 1/4 Tsp salt Cream first four ingredients together, until light and fluffy. Add flour, corn starch and salt. Beat until combined. Divide the dough in half, flatten into squares, and wrap in plastic. Chill until firm. On a floured board, roll or pat out each square to a thickness of three-eighths inch. Cut the dough into one and one-half inch squares or rounds, and transfer to baking sheets that are covered with parchment paper. Space them one inch apart, and prick each cookie several times with the tines of a fork.

GNTC’s Spring Plant Sale Continues April 7-8 Tuesday, April 6, 2021 The Spring Plant Sale at Georgia Northwestern Technical College, an annual tradition in Rome, will continue April 7-8.   On Tuesday the sale began at 8:30 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m. The sale will continue this Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Purchases may be made with cash or check.   The sale is a way for GNTC to contribute to the community that also gives horticulture students real-world experience and a way to display their work.    “We grew more ferns than ever, but I think they were gone by noon,” said David Warren, program director and instructor of horticulture at GNTC.
