BYU Men’s Basketball | Alex Barcello | San Francisco | Postgame | February 25, 2021
PROVO The BYU men s basketball team scored 7 points in transition Thursday night against San Francisco.
None were as big as Caleb Lohner s high-flying dunk with 3:10 left in the first half.
That s when Spencer Johnson, the American Fork product who forced a turnover and led the break, saw the freshman who prepped at Wasatch Academy charging towards the hoop. Nearly every one of the 1,750 fans in the Marriott Center began to stand up even before Lohner got the ball.

#2 Ranked Team TESTED By Caleb Lohner & Wasatch Academy!! DON T JUMP w/ Them Wasatch Dudes!
With 3:10 left in the first half, Lohner ran barrel-chested downcourt on a fast break, glanced at Spencer Johnson after the American Fork grad forced a steal, and gave him a pretty please with a nod, or maybe a few words, or a scream.
Whatever it was, Johnson relented, dishing a dribble handoff to Lohner around the free-throw line as the Wasatch Academy product soared through the air and rattled the rim with the force of a thousand furies that sent the reduced capacity crowd of just over 1,700 to their feet.

The event is considered the most prestigious All-American team for high school basketball recruits and is frequently used by colleges as a sign of the amount of talent it has in its recruiting class. Michigan leads all colleges with three current commitments on the 24-man roster.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the actual game will not happen and the players will be honored virtually.
Here are the 24 men’s players that made the team, along with more information on each of them, including what college they are committed to.

BENSALEM, Pa. For the latter portion of February this was a relatively quiet week. Usually, the boys’ basketball state playoffs are cranking or about to in some states. Last week, state champions were crowned in Virginia while Florida is at the regional stage, Texas tips this week with the bi-district playoffs, Georgia’s 32-team state brackets are stoked and Indiana starts with the four classifications of sectionals.
In less than a month, a majority of the states and teams from the Blue Star Media Elite 25 boys’ rankings will finish their seasons. The only teams that will be playing for keeps of the big prize are teams that participate in the National Interscholastic Basketball Conference. That’s a confederation of independent schools with high-profile programs and traditionally dominate the GEICO High Scho
