NOIDA: Holi is one of the most popular events in Vrindavan and each year, the town attracts thousands of people from across the country and abroad who join the celebrations. Along with Vrindavan, Mathura, about 14 km away, also sees thousands of visitors, especially during the festivities.
In a few years’ time, people thronging these two towns will get to see much more. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has proposed a “heritage corridor” and a tourism hub for the Mathura-Vrindavan belt. As per the plan, two 100-metre-wide roads will link both towns to the Yamuna Expressway, the Yamuna riverfront will be developed, meditation centres and a museum will come up in the area that will also have a retail space.
