The Waxahachie High School Project Graduation organization is still trudging toward its goal to make the project a reality for graduating 2021 seniors on May 21.
WHS Project Graduation is an organization that holds an event on the evening of graduation day, giving seniors an opportunity to have fun in a safe environment. The senior event will be a lock-in, in celebration of their graduation.
Throughout the school year, the organization has had many fundraisers to help raise money for the project. Nicole Burnett, vice president of the project, is one of the head leaders of this event.
Currently, the project is focusing on their next fundraiser, the golf tournament.

The Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce has announced its first in-person event, which is set to take place on March 3, celebrating a groundbreaking ceremony of Lippert s newest addition to its plant 241.
According to the Chamber, Lippert was formally known as Kinro Texas, Inc., and informally known locally as Kinro Composites or Better Bath. The company produces windows, axles, patio doors, and manufactured bath products. In 1985, it made the decision to move its Dallas location to Waxahachie and has employed hundreds of locals since.
The structure being celebrated in March will be the new home for Lippert s axles department.

Throughout the month of November and December, Feed the Fight has partnered with community organizations to bring appreciation and holiday cheer to Waxahachie Baylor Scott & White healthcare workers fighting at the COVID-19 front lines.
The first outreach took place on Nov. 11, with the Waxahachie Rotary Club as the first organization to partner with Feed the Fight. Since we started in November, we have delivered 10 care packages to Baylor, shared Melissa Chapman, coordinator for Feed the Fight. The Waxahachie Chamber, Ellis County Title, Bridge of Hope Counseling Center, Servpro, Waxahachie Symphony and the Ellis County District Attorney’s Office are just a few of the donors who have stepped up to support these heroes in scrubs.
