ISLAMABAD: The national team’s bowling coach Waqar Younis has left the team at the mercy of fate once again during African Safari and this time heading to Australia to meet his family.
Pakistan tour management in Harare (Zimbabwe) has confirmed that Waqar has left for Australia ahead of the start of the tour, leaving the bowlers at the mercy of head coach Misbahul Haq.
“Waqar’s wife is undergoing a surgery in a few days and that is the reason he has left for Australia to join his family. Waqar will have to go through 14-day quarantine after reaching Australia and that’s why he has to catch up the first available flight from Harare,” an official handout by team management says.

The Pakistan Cricket Board s (PCB) media manager said Monday Bowling Coach Waqar Younis will not be available for the Men In Green s series upcoming cricket against Zimbabwe.
The PCB official said Younis had to leave immediately for Australia as his wife is set to undergo surgery after Ramadan. He had to leave urgently as a 14-day quarantine is necessary after arriving at the country. Due to the given circumstances, Waqar Younis will be unable to render his services to the national team. He will resume his duties after returning to Pakistan from Australia, he said.

ISLAMABAD: Zimbabwe series would give us opportunities to test our bench strength and give required rest to top bowlers, revealed bowling coach Waqar Younis during virtual media talk Saturday.
“We are considering all options, knowing well that our bowlers are coming out of long break because of PSL’s untimely postponement. We know well how much cricket top bowlers need. We also want to test our bench strength. Zimbabwe series would provide us that opportunity.”
Waqar hoped that a formidable bowling combination would be finalized by the World Cup T20.
“Our effort is to prepare the best combination for the coming World Cup. A few options we have with us and are trying to get a clear picture well in time.”

It started with an emotional and touching note from Faryal on the couple s relationship over the years.
She shared two pictures of herself and Waqar with a caption detailing their journey together. We spend so much time apart as we always seem to come second to your passion for work. I am still hanging around because you make me proud of what you do and who you are, Faryal wrote.
Misbah, Waqar don’t deserve credit for Pakistan’s win over South Africa
Pakistani players who performed during first Test win over South Africa received no help for either Misbah or Waqar
KARACHI:
Pakistan’s comprehensive victory over South Africa in the first of the two-match Test series came after a dismal New Zealand tour and head coach Misbahul Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis would have felt better because of it, however, they do not deserve any credit for the win.
Why? There are multiple reasons that can be put forward to support this claim.
First and foremost, we need to analyse the players who played a key role in Pakistan’s victory.
