The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new COVID-19-related mask guidance saying fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear face coverings in most indoor settings, but California, and Santa Barbara County, will not change the current mandates until June 15, Public Health Director Van Do-Reynoso shared at Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting.
Tomorrow marks the beginning of a vaccination program designed to get as many students over the age of 12 to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Lompoc Unified School District officials say the students will need parental permission before taking their field trip to Lompoc Valley Medical Center for their vaccinations.
Lompoc Unified School District students to get COVID vaccinated at Lompoc Valley Medical Center
LOMPOC, Calif.– With parental permission, Lompoc Unified School District students over the ages of 12 will take a field trip to Lompoc Valley Medical Center and get COVID vaccinated.
According to hospital spokeswoman Nora Wallace, this is set to begin on Wednesday.
The district will be providing transportation to students who are going to get vaccinated.
Santa Barbara County Public Health is partnering with other school districts in the county as well as hospitals to get as many students over the ages 12 to get vaccinated against the virus.
