Llanbedr Church in Wales (CIW) primary school in the Vale of Grwyney near Crickhowell, is one of four schools facing closure under Powys Council s latest education transformation plans. But the council’s consultation documents have now been found to contain inaccurate figures on the spaces available to take Llanbedr pupils at the nearest CIW primary school, in Llangattock.

South Powys school closure consultation period extended

CONSULTATION on a proposal to close a south Powys primary school has been extended. Powys County Council is looking to reconfigure and rationalise the primary school provision in the county as part of its ‘Strategy for Transforming Education in Powys 2020-2030’ and is proposing to close Llanbedr Church in Wales School, near Crickhowell. The council is asking for views from the public on the proposal, which can now be provided until Wednesday, June 23.
