Lenoir Woman Charged With Cruelty To Animals

36-year-old Lisa Marie Meatyard of Delwood Drive in Lenoir was arrested Thursday (January 14) by Lenoir Police Officers. She’s charged with felony cruelty to animals and misdemeanor allowing animals to live in crowded or unsanitary conditions. Meatyard was brought to the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled for January 20.

18-year-old Hunter Lee Kersey of Wagon Wheel Drive in Lenoir was arrested Tuesday (January 12) by Lenoir Police Officers. He’s charged with felony counts of breaking and entering to an automobile, larceny of a firearm, and possession of a stolen firearm. Kersey was brought to the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $40,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (January 13).

Lenoir Man Charged With Firearm Offense, Parole Violation

29-year-old Xavier Dontay Dula of Frontier Way NW in Lenoir was arrested Monday (January 4) by Lenoir Police Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, parole violation, and two counts of injury to personal property. Dula was jailed in the Caldwell County Detention Center without bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (January 6).

LENOIR, N.C. A City of Lenoir Police K9 has passed away after six years of service, the Lenoir Police Department announced Wednesday.
Police K9 Axel passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, due to cancer.
Axel was born June 30, 2013, in the Czech Republic and was purchased by the City of Lenoir Police Department in August 2014. Sgt. Zachery Poythress trained Axel from start to finish while the sergeant earned certification as a Comprehensive Police Service Dog Trainer and Police Service Dog Team Instructor. Axel certified in October 2014 and became the City s first Police K9 to be dual certified by two separate associations.

38-year-old Jessica Watson Shupe of Hoods Creek Road in Lenoir was arrested Wednesday (December 30) by Lenoir Police Officers. She’s charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine. Shupe was released on $30,000 secured bond. She was scheduled to appear in District Court today (December 31).
