2 people including teen shot in Aurora, police looking for suspect

AURORA, Colo. A man and a 17-year-old male were shot Sunday morning in the parking lot of a LaQuinta Inn, the Aurora Police Department (APD) said on Twitter.
Police said the shooting happened at 4:45 a.m. at 1500 S. Abilene St. after a dispute. APD did not provide a description of any suspects but said they drove a white sedan, possibly a Volkswagen Jetta.
Independence hotel sells for $3.4 million

CorePoint Lodging Trust, a hotel real estate investment trust based in Irving, Texas, sold the LaQuinta hotel on Quarry Lane in Independence for $3.4 million, according to online Cuyahoga County property records.
New Horizons Ltd., a private company based in Chino, Calif., paid $3.4 million on April 14 to buy the 100-room LaQuinta Inn by Wyndham in Independence, according to Cuyahoga County land records.
The property was shed by an affiliate of CorePoint Lodging Group Inc. (NYSE: CPLG), a real estate investment trust based in Irving, Texas.
CorePoint, according to its conference call with investors and analysts on March 11, is focusing its portfolio on about 100 properties and sold 113 hotels last year. It said at that time it was on track to shed about 40 more this year.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A Columbus man is behind bars after being charged with multiple offenses including a stolen firearm.
On April 15, at approximately 8 p.m., the Robbery and Assault Division and SWAT team repsonded to the LaQuinta Inn on Warm Springs Rd. in order to serve a high-risk arrest warrant on Aaron Scarborough.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man wanted for murder in Memphis fired shots after U.S. Marshals approached the hotel room he was in Thursday, according to Nashville Metro Police.
Law enforcement officers said 48-year-old Michael Tucker fired three shots as U.S. Marshalls tried to arrest him at a hotel in south Nashville.
After Tucker failed to respond, U.S. Marshals breached the door and sent in a drone. Tucker was found dead on the floor from a suspected self-inflicted gunshot.
