ALMOST all parts of Colchester have recorded nearly zero Covid cases in the latest week, new figures show. According to the Government s latest hotspots map, just two parts of the borough recorded three or more cases in the week to April 4. The rest of the borough has recorded less than three, meaning the virus is classed as suppressed in these areas. They are not recorded on the hotspots map any longer. The only areas which saw three or more cases were Parson s Heath, which recorded four, and Mile End and Braiswick, which recorded three.

EVERY neighbourhood in Colchester recorded less than six Covid cases in the latest seven day period, figures show. According to the latest Government hotspots map, every part of the borough recorded six or less cases in the seven days to March 31. The highest number of cases were seen in New Town and Hythe as well as Marks Tey and Wakes Colne - with each recording six. A total of 15 parts of the borough recorded less than five Covid cases in this week with nine parts of the borough seeing less than three cases. These areas are no longer included as hotspots of the Government map and the virus is classed as suppressed in these parts of the borough.
