According to a summary of the incident released on Friday, an Indianapolis Metropolitan police officer in an unmarked car and plainclothes was at the intersection of East 30th Street and North Shadeland Avenue just before 1 p.m. Thursday, where multiple people in trucks were shooting at each other. The officer fired at a person armed with a rifle, later identified by police as a 19-year-old man, according to the release.
At that point, the people at the intersection fled the scene, and the officer followed one of the vehicles until he lost sight of them around East 30th and North Routiers Avenue, a little less than 2 miles from the first scene.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) Indianapolis police were investigating a fatal crash Thursday night on the city’s northwest side.
Pike Township Fire Department was called to a report of a pedestrian struck about 6:40 p.m. Thursday at West 56th Street and Georgetown Road as Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to a report of a disabled vehicle at the same time at West 52nd Street and Georgetown Road. That stretch of road is just northeast of the I-65 interchange at Lafayette Road.
A News 8 crew found the fatality had happened on West 56th Street between Brookmeadow Boulevard and Georgetown Road.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to a person shot shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday at Epic Ultra Lounge, 8215 Center Run Road. That’s off East 82nd Street between I-69 and I-465, and near Castleton Square Mall.
The man died at the scene, an IMPD spokesman told News 8. Three other people were driven by a private vehicle to a nearby hospital, where two were found to be in critical condition and moved to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in downtown Indianapolis.

A Man Shot In The Throat On City’s East Side
INDIANAPOLIS – One person is in critical condition following a New Year’s Eve shooting on the city’s east side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Just before midnight on Dec. 31, officers were called to the 4400 block of Prospect Street for a report of a person shot.
After getting to the scene, a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the throat was found sitting in a vehicle.
The victim was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital for treatment.
IMPD has not released information on the victim or a possible suspect.
