The number of new COVID-19 cases confirmed each week in Avon Lake have steadily dropped through late January and February. In the last week of January, there were 50 cases confirmed in a week in Avon Lake. Two weeks ago, there were 19 cases confirmed in Avon Lake and last week there were 22 cases. In a report to mayor, Lorain County Public Health Commissioner David Covell said there has been a steady decrease in new cases confirmed countywide. Last week, there were 272 cases confirmed in Lorain County (including Avon Lake s 22).
