City seeks input from Suisun residents on street sweeping
Residents for the next few weeks are asked to complete a short survey about street sweeping.
Future mini-surveys will center around other quality-of-life issues where the Suisun City Council may be able to make better-informed decisions.
“I am so excited about this new community engagement tool,” Mayor Lori Wilson said in a press release.
“We always want to address our residents’ needs when making decisions or solving problems. What better way to do that, than by asking them,” she said in the press release. “With a simple question every month, on a topic we are currently working on, we get real-time information from the people we serve. I hope everyone takes about 2 minutes out of their schedule each month to respond and help build a better community.”

Another family wants answers regarding loved ones remains at Detroit cemetery
DETROIT – A man claimed his mother was buried here at Gethsemane Cemetery on Detroit’s east side some years ago, but he’s not sure exactly where her body is located.
He said he’s gotten the run-around from the former company for years.
“We supposedly bought a plot here and my mother was supposedly buried here in 2018,” said Michael Wilson.
Wilson said he’s still not sure if that’s the case. His 50-year-old mother, Lori Wilson, died from surgery complications in 2018. He said he paid for his mother to be buried in Gethsemane Cemetery on Gratiot Avenue and he believes she’s there, but he doesn’t know exactly where because he never saw her body placed in the ground.

Suisun council nixes Alder appointment to Public Safety Committee
SUISUN CITY The council voted 3-2 Tuesday not to appoint retired police chief Tom Alder to the city’s Public Safety Committee.
He was nominated by Councilman Mike Hudson, who won a council seat in November in a narrow victory over Alder.
Mayor Lori Wilson, Mayor Pro Tem Wanda Williams and Councilwoman Alma Hernandez were the dissenting votes. All three said they were bothered by Alder’s behavior at council meetings and with city staff.
Hernandez, who was elected to the council November, said she researched past meeting videos to come to her conclusion.
