Ghaziabad: The sex ratio in Ghaziabad has improved from 870 to 915 in the past decade, but has gone down in the last one year.
According to figures sourced from the health department, the number of women for every 1,000 men in the district was 961 in 2020, but has reduced to 915 this year.
The district’s sex ratio was a cause for concern 10 years ago. In 2011, Ghaziabad’s sex ratio was 870, which was lower than the state’s figure of 912.
The next year, it reduced further to 818. However, the gap between the number of men and women gradually increased over the years. From 928 in 2018, it increased to 961 in 2020.
