SURAT: A two-and-a-half-year-old organ donor from Gujarat s Surat gave new life to seven people including two kids from Russia and Ukraine . The boy s parents agreed to donate his organs after he was declared brain dead following an accident.
Two-and-a-half-year-old Jash Sanjeev Oza had fallen from the second floor of his neighbour s house at Bhatar area on December 9 while he was playing there.
He was declared brain dead on December 14 by doctors after he suffered brain haemorrhage, said an NGO on Wednesday, which had facilitated the entire organ donation process.
The boy s heart, lung, kidneys, liver and eyes were donated after consent from Jash s father Sanjeev Oza, a journalist who decided to donate his organs after officials of the NGO, Donate Life, approached him, the organisation said in a release.

A two-and-a-half year-old boy from Gujarat became the youngest cadaver donor, giving a new lease of life to seven children, including two from Russia and Ukraine, after his parents donated his organs. Jash’s heart, liver, lungs, both kidneys and eyes were donated after his parents Sanjeev Oza and Arachana agreed for the noble cause.
The heart was transplanted to a four-year-old Russian boy and the lungs to another four-year-old boy from Ukraine at MGM hospital in Chennai on Tuesday..

A two-and-a-half-year-old child, declared brain dead following an accident, gave a new lease of life to seven children, including two from Russia and Ukraine, after his parents donated his organs. The child’s heart has been transplanted to a 4-year-old boy from Russia while his lungs were transplanted to another four-year-old child from Ukraine at MGM hospital in Chennai on Tuesday.
This is the second organ donation amid the Covid-19pandemic in Surat city.
On December 9, Jash Sanjiv Oza, a resident of Bhatar area in Surat, had accidentally slipped from the balcony of a neighbour’s flat on the second floor of the apartment. He was rushed to Amruta Hospital nearby where he underwent treatment for several days. On December 14, doctors declared him brain dead.
