COLLEGE STATION, Texas – A silver medal by Katie Izzo in the 10,000m and fourth place by Devin Clark supplied Arkansas with 13 points in the first running final of the SEC Championships at E.B. Cushing Stadium on the Texas A&M campus.
Current team standings have Alabama leading with 19 points, followed by Auburn (18) and the Razorbacks (13).
Mercy Chelangat of Alabama won the 10,000m final in career best and collegiate-leading 32:21.13. Izzo posted a time of 33:17.52, which improves her position at No. 6 on the UA all-time list. Clark finished fourth with a 34:00.74.

BATON ROUGE, La. – No. 2 Arkansas claimed three victories while finishing as the top collegian in two additional events during a productive day of competition at the LSU Invitational held inside Bernie Moore Stadium on Saturday.
Arkansas hurdlers swept the top four places in the 100m hurdles, with two current Razorbacks and a pair of alums. Taliyah Brooks produced a 12.73 victory (0.9 wind) while Daszay Freeman (12.93) and Yoveinny Mota (12.95) followed in second and third place as the top two collegians. Payton Chadwick was fourth in 12.98. Jayla Hollis posted a 13.39 to finish eighth in the race and 10
th overall.
The performances by Freeman and Mota were career best times and moved them to No. 3 and 5, respectively, on the UA all-time list. For Mota, who equaled the Venezuelan national record with a 12.97 earlier this season, the 12.95 broke that mark and secured the national record. Freeman improved her pr

Kathryn Sandercock started for the Seminoles and earned her 19
th win of the season as she pitched 6.1 innings, allowing just three hits and one unearned run.
Emma Wilson entered to pitch for Florida State in the top of the sixth with one out. She allowed just one hit.
The Florida State offense was led by extra-base hits as the Seminoles recorded four doubles and a triple. Cassidy Davis scored two runs on two extra-base hits, a double and a triple.
NC State took an early 1-0 lead after the top of the first inning. An error and a pair of singles scored Tatyana Forbes for the Wolfpack. That ended up being NC State’s only run during game one.
