Former Comets captain O Reilly becomes 10th in AHL history to reach 500 career assists

NEWARK, NJ - Former Utica Comets captain Cal O Reilly made AHL history, Monday, becoming just the 10th player in league history to register 500 career assists.
O Reilly notched three helpers on Monday night, including the primary assist on the game-winner, to help his Lehigh Valley Phantoms to a 6-5 win over the Binghamton Devils.
The Toronto, Ontario native has appeared in 742 career AHL regular season games with eight different teams, including the Comets.
He spent two seasons in Utica, where he suited up in 128 contests and had 89 of his 500 career assists. O Reilly served as captain of the Comets in the 2014-15 season where he helped lead the team to a Western Conference championship and Calder Cup Finals appearance.

Pennsylvania s Department of Health Tuesday added more than 6600 new cases of coronavirus. Nearly 2500 people are currently hospitalized with the virus, 534 of whom are in the intensive care unit.
Pennsylvania s Department of Health has told all COVID-19 vaccine providers in the state to stop administering doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine until April 20th at the earliest. It comes after the FDA and CDC both recommended an immediate pause in the distribution of one of the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine due to concerns about blood clots. The FDA s Janet Woodcock emphasizes there were only six women who reported blood clots within a week or two of being vaccinated.
Despite picking up a point in Thursday s 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders, the team actually lost a point in the standings with Boston knocking off Washington. That leaves the Flyers six points back with 17 games to go and with Boston having two games in hand. If Boston were to simply go one game above .500 the rest of the way, that would give them 68 points. To get to 69 points, the Flyers would need to hypothetically go 14-3 to get 28 more points seems highly improbable.
With all that said, the Flyers really have no choice but to be sellers at the deadline due to a few factors:
