Eskom hikes electricity tariffs, fuel price expected to increase Updated

Eskom is hiking the tariff by 15.6 percent on Thurday.
Earlier this year, the High Court ruled that an additional R10 billion in Eskom s revenue should be allowed for this financial year.
It was after the National Energy Regulator of South Africa was ordered to review its previous decisions on Eskom s Price Determination Regulatory Clearing Account applications.
South Africans can also expect a significant fuel price increase.
The Automobile Association s Layton Beard said: The additional 27 cents to the General Fuel Levy and Road Accident Fund levies announced by Finance Minister Tito Mboweni in February come into effect in April and will add extra costs to every litre of fuel purchased, in addition to the increased monthly adjustment.
