Among all the doom these days coming from Iceland (and pretty much everywhere else too), some people had forgotten Iceland Airwaves. Now in its tenth year, Iceland Airwaves is the biggest little festival in the world and has attracted the best international acts since the beginning. The festival is also famed for nurturing and even launching the careers of Iceland’s best acts as well. The first (and only) time I have been to Airwaves so far was this time two years ago. And I actually felt tearful for several days after it finished. Sounds stupid I know, but it’s true – and my hopes are high for this year too.
