Oakland County provides an update on their COVID vaccination plan.

(WXYZ) â The Oakland County Health Division has administered nearly all the COVID vaccine doses it has received, officials say.
Of the 41,350 doses the state distributed to the Health Division since Dec. 17, 41,323 are in peopleâs arms.
County Executive Dave Coulter launched a network of vaccine provider partnerships to whom they will distribute vaccine.
âWeâve already vaccinated more than 41,000 people and have administered 99.9% of the doses that the state has allocated to us,â Coulter said in a press release. âBut weâre ready and anxious for the time when that number jumps dramatically. Oakland County health officials grateful to vaccinate thousands a week

Madison Heights Kristen Schroeder purposely wore a tie-dye T-shirt with a smiling face on it Sunday because she wanted to convey how happy she was to finally get the COVID-19 vaccine. I m kind of a super vaxxer so if there s a vaccine out there, I want to get it, said Schroeder, 55, of Rochester Hills who is eligible for the vaccine because she works in education. I was eager to get it, and I was kind of jealous that some of my friends got it sooner than me.
“Gloves!” a Wayne County Public Health Division employee says.
“Can somebody take my picture? I wanna picture of this,” her partner says excitedly.

“And there it is,” one employee says as she peers inside. “That’s the box.”
An employee pulls out and opens a smaller box, removing a tray of the most precious cargo health department officials in Michigan have ever handled.
Their first shipments of the COVID-19 vaccine.
“Get a tray. We got two,” one of the employees says in a nearly two-minute video of employees unpacking the vaccine Thursday. “We’re all very excited.”

PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) â The first 1,950 doses of COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech arrived Thursday at the Oakland County Health Division.
According to the county, initial vaccinations will begin by appointment only on Friday, Dec. 18 in Waterford for emergency medical service (EMS) personnel who have indirect or direct exposure to patients and to help keep emergency response systems open and functioning in Oakland County.
