LWV to discuss Montana redistricting
Montana Redistricting is the focus of the next League of Women Voters of the Helena Area meeting at noon Tuesday.
Speakers will be Susan Fox, executive director of the Legislative Services Division, and Rachel Weiss, legislative research analyst. They will discuss how redistricting works in Montana and share their experience with the 67th Montana Legislature.
The public is welcome to join this online meeting.

CASA volunteers are soughtÂ
Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers are needed.
These are people appointed by the court to advocate for children who come into the court system as a result of alleged abuse or neglect. Most are under 6.
Prior to this past year, not many people could name Lewis and Clark County s health officer, but it was not long into the global health pandemic that Drenda Niemann became a household name locally.
Niemann s leadership throughout the COVID-19 outbreak has netted her Helena YWCA s Woman of the Year award to be presented at the annual Salute to Women Awards Luncheon on Thursday at noon.
Also set to receive awards are former Lewis and Clark County Commissioner Susan Good Geise; single mother and nursing student Michelle Bright; local philanthropist and former Capital High School Valedictorian Nikki MacMillan; and Helena High School graduate Emma Niederstadt.
Gov. Greg Gianforte touted the benefits of drug treatment courts during the First Judicial District Drug Treatment Court graduation on Tuesday in Helena.Â
The graduation of Taylor Corne and Jasmine Newman was the court s first since Gianforte took office in January. It was also the first graduation presided over by Judge Chris Abbott, who took over the criminal drug treatment court after being appointed by former Gov. Steve Bullock to replace retiring Judge James Reynolds. Judge Reynolds, thank you for paving the way to change lives here, Gianforte said. Taylor and Jasmine, you ve worked your tails off to be here.
