PDEA cites uncooperative village chiefs in war vs drugs

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (MANILA BULLETIN) This was revealed by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA Region 7) Director Levi Ortiz when he led the conduct of house-to-house visit on drug surrenderees in Barangay Lorega here Tuesday. As he praised Barangay Lorega Captain Fritzgerald Herrera for being active in PDEA’s barangay drug-clearing program, Ortiz issued a warning against those other uncooperative barangay chairmen. “Now let this be a warning to other barangays because we at the PDEA 7 is very thankful to our captain (Herrera) because he is very supportive but there are other barangay captains who are not supportive of the President’s program. We will file appropriate cases against them,” Ortiz said.

PDEA, Cosap visit 15 drug surrenderers in Lorega

Talisic) + March 09, 2021 THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 visited 15 drug surrenderers from Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. They visited to check if the drug surrenderers have not gone back to selling illegal drugs. PDEA 7 Director Levi Ortiz led the visit, along with Cebu City Office for Substance Abuse (Cosap) head Jonah John Rodriguez and Barangay Lorega Captain Fritzgerald Herrera. Herrera said that among the 200 drug surrenderers in the barangay, the 15 were picked for their notoriety in selling and using illegal drugs. He told SuperBalita Cebu that many drug surrenderers have gone back to selling illegal drugs. Those who were arrested and released through a plea bargaining agreement would go to the barangay hall to have their names cleared or because they are under probation, but would not return.

Lorega, Cebu City to check if they have reverted to their old ways or not. The house-to-house visits are part of the PDEA’s Barangay Drug Clearing Program as mandated by President Rodrigo Duterte.

PDEA, AMLC serve freeze order on property, bank accounts of Cebu City couple linked to a drug syndicate

Published February 16, 2021, 3:30 PM Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) have enforced a freeze order on the property and bank accounts of a couple in Cebu City tagged as involved in the illegal activities of the “Kuratong Baleleng Drug Group’’. PDEA Director-General Wilkins Villanueva said they were able to secure a freeze order from the Court of Appeals (CA) after the investigation they conducted revealed that couple Artemio and Daisy Salas had a numerous bank account transactions which were not commensurate to their declared sources of income. The dalisay couple both have standing warrants of arrest.
