M1 lanes were closed in East Midlands after fire
Emergency services are at the scene and traffic queues are building
Two lanes of the M1 have been closed this afternoon because of a vehicle fire.
A southbound stretch of the motorway approaching junction 21a, between Markfield and Leicester, is affected.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service says a car is on fire on the hard shoulder.
Congestion is building and drivers have been urged to avoid the area if they can.
