Several Kildare TDs and Senators have backed a high-profile #bestshot campaign by the Leinster Leader and KildareNow to make the Covid-19 vaccines available in local pharmacies.
People are being urged to sign a
petitionto the Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly so the people of Kildare can let the government know that they believe that the vaccine should be delivered straight to our local communities - through our local pharmacies.
Fine Gael TD Bernard Durkan said: I am happy to support every possible avenue to facilitate the distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine by the maximum number of routes possible in keeping with expert advice and medical requirements.

It was a New Year’s gift as unwelcome as it was unexpected. In the early hours of January 2, 1941, as the people of Newbridge slept under the thin security blanket of Irish neutrality, a stray Nazi plane droned overhead and unleashed a torrent of bombs to the west of the town.
High explosive projectiles plunged earthwards, scouring craters in the ground on the edge of the Curragh racecourse and in the pastures of Ballymany Stud.
