Lease fight escalates as Tullamore release lengthy statement

A ROW between Tullamore GAA Club and the Offaly GAA County Board over the payment of the lease for O Connor Park has escalated further. Tullamore GAA Club have clearly stated that they have no appetite for selling O Connor Park to the County Board, there is no provision for a review of the lease and that they will engage a formal legal arbitration process to solve the impasse. They also expressed disappointment with Offaly GAA, Leinster Council and Croke Park in a six page statement.
Derek Frehill had assumed that last year was going to be his final term in charge of the Longford senior hurlers. The year didn’t go too much to plan with.

While there is a great air of excitement in the Longford camp as the preparations continue for the start of the Covid delayed 2021 GAA season, manager Padraic Davis must plan without regular defender Barry O’Farrell.
The rock solid Carrickedmond player is ruled out of county action this season after undergoing necessary surgery on a recurring wrist injury.

The GAA, in partnership with Kellogg, has launched the 2021 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps, offering children a healthy, fun and safe summer outdoor activity.
Starting on 28th June and running up to 27th August, the 2021 Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps will run in line with government guidelines and subject to the advice of the relevant authorities. The successful health and safety measures from last year will be implemented again and built on for the 2021 camps.

The Longford senior hurlers will play Louth and Monaghan in the group stage of the 2021 Lory Meagher Cup with the top two teams qualifying for the semi-finals.
Cavan and Fermanagh will compete in the other group and no matter what happens in the group stage, Longford will be guaranteed another opportunity of reaching the last four.
The first championship fixture for Derek Frehill’s side is at home to Louth on June 26/27, followed by the game away to Monaghan on July 10/11. The third placed team in the group will meet the losers of Cavan v Fermanagh in the quarter-final.
