Gardaí said the Covid reporting line for Co Donegal is a temporary measure that may be discontinued shortly.
A Garda hotline in Co Donegal set up to allow people report suspected breaches of Covid regulations may be shut following a review by senior officers.
The controversial telephone line based at Letterkenny Garda station was set up almost two weeks ago when virus rates spiked in the county.
In the first week of operation 67 calls were received. When investigated 41 of these were not found to relate to a breach. Enquiries are ongoing into a further 21 calls while two hoax calls were also received.
Gardai have launched an investigation after a van was set on fire in the Drumkeen area on Thursday last.
At around 1:25am last Thursday, Gardai and the fire service responded to a report of a van on fire at the entrance to a property in the Callan area.
Gardai believe the fire was started deliberately.
They are appealing to anyone who may have any information or dash cam footage of the incident to contact Letterkenny Garda station.

A Sinn Féin TD for Co Donegal has said the establishment of a dedicated hotline to report Covid breaches to gardaí in the county is a bit of an exaggeration in terms of the challenge of managing the virus in the county.
Speaking on RTÉ s Drivetime, Pádraig MacLochlainn said that in recent weeks a couple of electoral areas had a little bit of a setback and a challenge in those areas but it doesn t justify the dogs in the streets comments or it doesn t justify dedicated hotlines for Donegal .
He said it s disheartening and demoralising for the vast majority of people in the county, who ve made huge personal sacrifices over the last year...to hear their county, as they see it, being knocked and scapegoated .
