ASHEVILLE - The Feb. 1 removal of a homeless encampment under an I-240 bridge during some of the coldest weather of the year has sparked outraged in the community. BeLoved Asheville, a nonprofit that works with Asheville s vulnerable population, put a statement on the West Asheville Exchange Facebook page describing how they had been working with a homeless man who lived under the bridge to get him a pair of boots. The man lived in a shelter made out of tent, cardboard, and blankets. He walked on the back of his only pair of shoes because it was a size 10 and he wears a size 12, the organization wrote.
