FEDERAL AID APPROVED: President Biden approves request for additional winter storm aid for Oklahomans

Kevin Stitt’s office announced Wednesday night that President Joe Biden has approved additional federal funding for Oklahomans following the recent historic winter storms.The latest declaration delivers FEMA Public Assistance to municipalities, counties and tribes in all 77 Oklahoma counties for infrastructure repairs and other costs associated with responding to the winter storms, a news release states.Also, 16 counties were approved for individual assistance, which officials said benefits homeowners, renters and business owners affected by the storms. Those counties include Canadian, Carter, Cherokee, Comanche, Cotton, Hughes, Jefferson, Le Flore, McIntosh, Oklahoma, Okmulgee, Osage, Pittsburg, Stephens, Tulsa and Wagoner.Federal funding is also available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency protective measures and hazard
