UofL Health opened Kentucky’s largest drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination site at University of Louisville’s Cardinal Stadium. The push is one to vaccinate all willing Kentuckians, age 16 and older.

(MURFREESBORO) Community leader Dr. Jim Boerner (pronounced bur-ner), age 69, passed away last Friday (4/9/2021) after a battle with COVID-19. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later from Woodfin Funeral Chapel.

LOUISVILLE, Ky.– Gov. Andy Beshear marked another key moment in Kentucky’s fight against COVID-19 on Monday, when he joined health care leaders to open a drive-through vaccination site at Cardinal Stadium where 200,000 Kentuckians can get their shot of hope over the next seven weeks.
Standing in the midst of 28 vaccination lanes in the stadium parking lot, the Governor also announced the Team Kentucky Vaccination Challenge: when 2.5 million Kentuckians have received at least their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, Gov. Beshear will remove capacity restrictions and physical distancing requirements for nearly all venues, events and businesses that cater to 1,000 or fewer patrons. Gov. Beshear said he would also end the curfew for bars and restaurants when this goal is met.
The jury has heard repeatedly that police officers are taught that restraining people facedown is dangerous. Dr. Tobin walked the jury through exactly why, explaining first that simply being in the prone position reduces lung capacity.
On top of that, a knee on the neck compressed Mr. Floyd’s airway, he said, and the weight on his back alone made it three times harder than normal to breathe.
Dr. Tobin discounted the oft-repeated adage that someone who can talk can breathe, calling it “a very dangerous mantra to have out there.”
It is technically true, he said, but “It gives you an enormous false sense of security. Certainly at the moment that you are speaking you are breathing, but it doesn’t tell you that you’re going to be breathing five seconds later.”
